We are pleased to have Becky Smith as our chorus director and coach. Becky was born in Oregon and grew up in Sisters. She attended Redmond High School, and her first two years of college were at Central Oregon Community College in Bend.  Following a love of music engendered by being part of a music-loving family, she continued on to the University of Oregon, receiving a BA degree in music. After graduation, Becky continued at the university and completed two years of post- graduate study in the music education field.She has been a public school music teacher, church choir director, private teacher, and freelance musician.

Becky first sang barbershop as a tenor in the family quartet when she was a teenager.  Although the years have taken her in a wide loop away from that experience, she has been happy to return to barbershop and share the joy and hard work of shaping a cappella vocal music with the High Desert Harmoneers.
